Professional Skateboarding
Over the years people have been surfing the waves of the beach but if the swell is not good then they have nowhere to surf. And that is when skateboarding comes into play. Skateboarding is to ride or perform stunts on a skateboard. There are many tricks you can perform on a skateboard; and they still are making many more to this day. Skateboarding first started out as "land surfing" for the surfers. But over the years it has become a professional sport. A career in Professional skateboarding may be a perfect career for those who love to travel to different places, are very competitive, and like the feeling of landing a trick that they know they worked hard to master.
There are few but important responsibilities and requirements for being a professional skateboarder. The first responsibility is to be a good role model to the kids because many kids ages 6 and up look up to professional skateboarders. So if kids see them drinking beer all the time or smoking they will think its cool and do it to. Most importantly if kids see their favorite skater get mad and beat some random person up then they will do the same exact thing when they get mad. That is why a professional skater has to be a very good role model. Another important responsibility is to practice whenever there is a chance. Practicing is very important because it will improve their skills and harder tricks will be landed. Also a professional skater has to be kind to his or her fans because the more fans he or she has the more of their products will be purchased. And the more products being purchased the more money they make. And that's about all the responsibilities and requirements needed to be a professional skater.
There are no prerequisites to enter a professional skateboarding career. As for training they just need to practice when there is a chance and love to skate everyday and all the time. Also there is no education needed for becoming a professional skateboarder. There are many talents the sponsors look for in a skater like being able to land a treflip, kickflip, varial kickflip, 180 ollie, 360 ollie, heelflip. Also 360 heelflip, pop shuv-it, inward varial heelflip, outward varial heelflip, ollieing stairs, 50-50 grinds, nose 5-0 grinds, tail 5-0 grinds, nose slide, tail slide, board slide, dark slide, feeble grinds and many more. Some but not all of these tricks should be mastered to become a professional skateboarder.
There is little demand for becoming a professional skateboarder, so that means it is hard to become one. So far the skateboarding industry is 2.5 billion in revenue. The industry is growing by 85%. There is not a higher demand in particular regions for skateboarding. So that makes it hard to be one.
The salary professional skateboarders get is pretty good. Mid-level skaters earn from $50 to $100k a year. While pro-level skaters earn from $500k to $1 million a year.
